Program: Emergency Planning & Preparation for Global NGOs
Please join us for a round-table discussion on emergency preparedness with discussion around best practices to implement at your organizations. We will address key areas of interest, such as evaluating risk for operations worldwide, including natural disaster planning, site risk assessments for high-profile projects, and project management/site security in high-risk areas.
Our Speaker
Sandra Boyd is currently the Associate Director for Global Operations and Security at URC-CHS. Sandra is a security risk management specialist with over 15 years’ experience working internationally in insecure environments for international development organizations and NGOs. She has a strong background in the application of risk assessment methodologies and subsequent development and implementation of corporate and country-specific security management frameworks (including crisis management). Her role includes the provision of support to the organization to meet their corporate duty of care in security risk management while concurrently preparing programs and staff to appropriately manage their risk. She is experienced working in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa; Sandra speaks fluent Spanish and French and basic Mandarin.
