Six months after the Supreme Court decided race-based college admissions violated the constitution, what are the implications for workplace DEI&A programs?

This program will explore the legal history of affirmative action for the workplace, including mandatory programs for federal contractors and voluntary affirmative action programs, and the current legal landscape for corporate DEI&A initiatives.

We will learn what aspects of corporate DEI&A may be vulnerable, what programs have been successful and discuss how the change to college admissions may implicate workforce “pipeline” issues.

This program will be led by Victoria "Vicki" A. Lipnicformer Commissioner and Acting Chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Vicki currently serves as Partner and Head of the Human Capital Strategy Group at Resolution Economics. An accomplished lawyer and senior executive, Vicki brings a rich history of leadership from her roles in significant federal government positions and in practice with a major law firm.  She served as Acting Chair and Commissioner at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) (appointed by President Obama). She is recognized for her expertise in human capital management, employment and labor law and civil rights, DEI&A, and leading public policy initiatives.  Over the past two decades she has led or been involved with regulatory initiatives involving federal wage and hour matters, the Family and Medical Leave regulations, the Americans with Disabilities Act regulations and numerous other policy initiatives, including the EEOC’s seminal work on the Study of Harassment in the Workplace.

Vicki's dedication to civil rights, equal employment opportunity, and her reputation for bipartisanship stand out. She also served as an Assistant Secretary of Labor (appointed by President Bush) where she was responsible for, et. al., the Office of Federal Contract Compliance (OFFCP) which oversees affirmative action by federal contractors.

She received her JD from George Mason University - Antonin Scalia Law School and a BA in Political Science and History from Allegheny College.
