Laura Kinney

Director of People Strategy - Brighter Strategies

Laura Kinney serves as Director, People Strategy for Brighter Strategies and her focus is to bring strategic-level HR support to a variety of organizations.  With over 20 years of experience, she has worked for a wide variety of industries, including previous stints as an HR consultant and extensive work in a government contracting environment, both privately and publicly held. She has served at the Director level at several firms and was active in putting strategic plans and activities into motion. Laura is an active member of the HRLF Programming Committee and is committed to bringing great content to the programs.  She has established a stellar network of HR professionals from which to gather both best and leading practices. In 2010 she participated in the award-winning NOVA SHRM Peer Mentoring Program and always looks forward to returning to the program as an employee relations subject matter expert.

Laura’s areas of expertise include employee relations, compliance, policy and procedure, M&A integration efforts, corporate communication, competency modeling, recruitment life-cycle, career pathing, training and development, and Executive coaching and counseling.  Laura enjoys walks with her husband and dog, traveling, reading, going to the movies, and watching golf and baseball.
